How quickly can you collect?

For same-day bookings we aim to collect within 60 minutes of your booking being confirmed. If you need a timed collection window, select the "Timed Collection" add-on when you book and we will lock in the slot you choose.

Can I book in advance?

Yes. You can schedule a collection up to 28 days ahead. Simply pick your preferred date and time window during the booking process. You will receive a confirmation email with a reminder 24 hours before collection.

What information do I need to make a booking?

You will need the collection and delivery postcodes, the approximate dimensions and weight of your goods, a contact name and phone number at both ends, and a payment card. That is it -- the whole process takes under three minutes.

Can I book by phone?

Yes. Call 07835 272954 and one of our team will take the booking for you. Phone bookings carry the same pricing as online, and you will receive the same confirmation email and live tracking link.

Is there a minimum booking value?

Minimum charges vary by vehicle type and start from around 35 pounds for a motorcycle courier on a short urban run. Your quote will always show the minimum charge if it applies.

Do you offer same-day delivery?

Same-day delivery is our core service. Book before midday for a guaranteed same-day delivery to most mainland Great Britain postcodes. Evening and overnight services are also available for bookings made later in the day.

What areas do you cover?

We cover all of mainland Great Britain -- England, Scotland, and Wales. This includes remote Highland postcodes and island communities accessible by road bridge. We do not currently serve Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man.

How long does a delivery take?

Transit times depend on distance. Local deliveries within 30 miles are typically door-to-door in 2 to 3 hours. Cross-country deliveries (for example London to Manchester) average 4 to 6 hours. Your booking confirmation will include an estimated arrival window.

Will a single driver take my goods all the way to the destination?

Yes. All our same-day services are direct, dedicated journeys -- your driver collects and delivers without stopping at a depot or combining with other consignments. This is what separates same-day courier from standard parcel carriers.

What happens if no one is available to receive the delivery?

Accepted Answer

Your driver will attempt the delivery and immediately call the recipient. If there is still no answer, the driver will return the goods to the collection address unless you have provided a safe-place or neighbour instruction in your booking. A failed delivery may incur a re-delivery charge.

Do you operate 24 hours?

What types of goods can you carry?

We carry commercial freight, retail stock, documents, medical samples, automotive parts, construction materials, and most general goods. We have temperature-controlled vehicles for pharmaceuticals and perishables, and specialist equipment for fragile or high-value items.

Are there any items you cannot carry?

We are unable to carry Class 1 explosives, illegal substances, live animals (other than by prior arrangement with our specialist division), human remains, or any goods prohibited under UK law. Certain hazardous materials (ADR goods) can be carried by our licensed vehicles -- please call us to arrange.

What is the maximum weight or size you can handle?

Our largest vehicle, a 7.5-tonne curtainsider, can handle palletised loads up to 3,500 kg and full-length items up to 7 metres. For loads heavier than 3,500 kg or wider than 2.4 metres, contact us to discuss a bespoke solution.

Can you carry fragile or high-value items?

Yes. Select the "Fragile Handling" and / or "Enhanced Insurance" add-ons during booking. Our drivers are briefed on specialist handling, and our standard goods-in-transit insurance can be extended to cover items valued up to 50,000 pounds.

Do you offer temperature-controlled transport?

Yes. We operate refrigerated and chilled vehicles (2 degrees C to 8 degrees C) and ambient-controlled vans. These are ideal for pharmaceutical products, fresh food, and biological samples. Select "Temperature Controlled" from the vehicle list when quoting.

How do I track my delivery?

As soon as your driver departs, you and your recipient receive a live tracking link by email and SMS. The link shows a real-time map with the driver location, estimated arrival time, and status updates. No app download or account is required.

Will I get notifications during transit?

Yes. You will receive automatic SMS and email notifications at: booking confirmed, driver assigned, driver en route to collection, goods collected, driver en route to delivery, and delivered. You can manage notification preferences in your account settings.

Can the recipient track the delivery too?

Yes. The same live tracking link is sent to the recipient contact number and email address you provide at the time of booking. They will see the identical real-time view, including the driver name and an estimated arrival window.

What is proof of delivery?

At delivery, your driver captures a digital signature (or photo if the recipient is unavailable) and a GPS-timestamped record. Your proof of delivery (POD) document is available to download from your account portal within minutes of delivery completion.

Every quote includes fuel, driver time, standard goods-in-transit insurance (up to 10,000 pounds), live tracking, and digital proof of delivery. VAT at 20% is shown separately and included in the final total.

No. The price you see on the quote screen is the price you pay, subject to the surcharges you select. The only additional charges that can arise are a failed delivery surcharge if the recipient is unavailable, or a waiting time charge if your driver waits longer than 15 minutes at the collection or delivery point.

Online bookings are paid by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) or by account credit if you have a business account with us. We use Stripe for secure card processing -- your card details are never stored on our servers.

Yes. Our tiered pricing automatically reduces your rates the more you spend. Bronze tier starts at 500 pounds per month, Silver at 2,000 pounds, and Gold at 5,000 pounds. Rates and thresholds are reviewed annually.

All bookings include standard goods-in-transit insurance up to 10,000 pounds as standard. If your consignment is worth more, add the "Enhanced Insurance" option at booking to extend cover up to 50,000 pounds. Our full insurance certificate is available on request.

What is your liability if goods are damaged or lost?

Our liability is governed by the Road Haulage Association (RHA) Conditions of Carriage 2020. In the event of loss or damage, we will investigate and, where we are at fault, settle your claim promptly. Please inspect goods on delivery and note any damage on the POD before the driver leaves.

Contact our claims team within 7 days of delivery at claims@eagontransport.co.uk. Include your booking reference, a description of the damage or loss, and supporting photographs where possible. We aim to acknowledge all claims within 24 hours and resolve them within 14 working days.

Are high-value items such as electronics covered?

Standard cover applies to most goods. High-value electronics, artwork, jewellery, and antiques require the Enhanced Insurance add-on and may require a pre-shipment declaration of value. Contact us before booking if you are unsure whether your goods qualify.

Do I need an account to book?

No. You can book as a guest using just an email address. However, creating a free account gives you access to booking history, saved addresses, live tracking from one dashboard, downloadable invoices, and faster re-booking.

How do I create an account?

Click "Sign up" in the top navigation, enter your name, email, and a password, and verify your email address. The whole process takes under a minute. You can link existing guest bookings to your new account using the same email address.

Can multiple users share a business account?

Yes. Business accounts support multiple user seats under a single billing profile. The account owner can invite team members and assign them roles (booker, viewer, or administrator). Contact us to enable multi-user access on your account.

How do I download my invoices?

Log in to your portal, go to Billing, and download any invoice as a PDF. You can filter by date range and export a summary CSV for your accounting system. Invoices are retained for 7 years in line with HMRC record-keeping requirements.
